Brandon Young is a Foreign Service Specialist with over 10 years of service at the United
States Department of State. He focuses on managing strategic programs with key foreign allies
and is a fierce advocate for diversity and inclusion.
Brandon hails from Birmingham AL, graduating from Wenonah High School in 2002, he began
public service by enlisting in the United States Navy at 18 years old. Brandon served in
Operation Iraqi Freedom as an Electronic Warfare Operator and Honorably discharged in 2006.
he returned home and enrolled into Miles College, where he was initiated into the Gamma
Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, and graduated in 2011. Brandon is
the father two lovely daughters; Lauren (14) and Madison (9). When he’s not busy with work or
family, he is involved in several residential and commercial investment projects in the Ensley,
Woodlawn, and Wenonah neighborhoods of the Birmingham Metropolitan area, providing
quality housing to economically challenged families.
