50 Under 50 Bio
I am Constance Martin, a proud native of Bethlehem, Georgia. My educational journey led me to Miles College on a track and field scholarship. During my time at Miles, I actively engaged in the Honors Curriculum, UNCF, and served as the SGA Director of Public Relations. Additionally, I became a proud member of the Eta Nu chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. My athletic achievements were equally fulfilling, earning me esteemed awards such as the 2011 Newcomer of the Year and the 2015 Athlete of the Year.
In 2015, I graduated from Miles College with Cum Laude honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Following graduation, I embarked on a fulfilling career as a sheriff’s deputy in Birmingham, serving for three years. I continued to advance my career in the criminal justice field as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, making history as the first black female originating from the Birmingham Field office. Presently, I call Washington D.C. my home, where I work for the Obama Protective Division, a pinnacle achievement in my career.
In my leisure time, you’ll often find me dedicated to fitness and exploring new destinations. Traveling has become a true passion, and I attribute much of my adventurous spirit to the experiences and support I received from my alma mater, Miles College.
I will forever hold deep gratitude for Miles College, as it played a pivotal role in nurturing and shaping the resilient woman I am today—a “Rose that grew from Concrete.”
