Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Deirdre Gaddis is an independent recording artist. Her debut project, “Life in the Key of Dei” was released in March of 2011, and received rave reviews in the U.K, France, Germany, and Japan to name a few. Her video premiered in July 2011 for the track “This Funky Ride of Life” which is her own personal testament to self-empowerment and building self-esteem. She released her second album, “Keep Pushin’” in April 2020, which featured the positivityfilled title track, “Keep Pushin’”. Deirdre performed as a member of The Birmingham Trio at the BET Selma 50th Year Commemoration at the site of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. She is a proud Summa Cum Laude alum of the esteemed Miles College, where she toured with The Miles College Golden Voices from 2012-2015 under Dr. Bernard Williams and Mrs. Patsy Howze and was frequently recognized as “The Voice of Miles College”. She was the very first recipient of the City of Birmingham’s StrongHer Award in 2019 after being an avid champion of women with alopecia. She is the mother of Julian who also uses his talents of singing and percussion alongside her at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Zion City where she serves as the Minister of Music
