In the bustling realm of human resources, community engagement, and mentoring one individual stands out for their unwavering commitment to positive change and empowerment. Meet Demetrius D. Jackson, a dynamic force whose life story unfolds as a testament to the transformative power of dedication, mentorship, and community activism. Born and raised in Eutaw, Alabama, Demetrius’ upbringing was steeped in values inclusivity and service to mankind. From an early age, he understood human interactions and fostering connections. The innate passion led to purse a degree in Mass Communications from the illustrious Miles College class of 2003. While matriculating at Dear Ole Miles, he served as the Student Photographer and Communications Club President. During this time he had the unique opportunity to display his visual and written talents to support campus life and sporting events; football, basketball, and softball. His commitment to express invaluable insight to help resolve the parking challenges on campus during while on campus served as a catalyst to share the concerns of students, faculty and staff. Mr. Jackson also serves as Student Program Coordinator for Southern Company. Southern Company is the parent company for Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and Mississippi Power. At Southern Company he supports the Campus Recruitment Team to craft innovative strategies for talent acquisition, employee development, and daily human resource functions. His invaluable insights help the organization flourish with his strong leadership and clear understanding of the corporate landscape. He serves as an advisor to the Students of Southern Company which is the organization the interns and co-op students participate to enhance leadership skills, network with peers, learn about Southern Company, and serve the community. Demetrius Jackson also serve as Vice President to the Alpha Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The chapter serves metro – Birmingham through its mandated programs and mentoring initiatives Omega Lamplighters male mentor group. He’s a seasoned and compassionate mentor with a passion for guiding young men towards success. Demetrius Jackson brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine desire to help others reach their full potential. The Lamplighters Motto is “Turning good youngmen into great youngmen”.
