Currently, he is dedicatedly pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry from New Orleans Theological Seminary, showing his unwavering dedication to personal and professional development.

He currently serves as an Investigator in the Internal Affairs Division of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. His role involves upholding the highest standards of integrity and ensuring accountability within the department. Derrick's expertise extends further as he is a State of Alabama Licensed Polygrapher, utilizing his skills to uncover the truth and aid in criminal investigations.
