Description
Genesis Wyne Player, MSW, an Alabama native, employs compassionate and strategic problem
solving to empower teams that empower marginalized communities. For nearly two decades, her
passion for elevating others has motivated her to drive results in nonprofits, k-12 public
education, and higher education. Genesis is currently the Associate Director of Administration
for the Aletheia House, Inc. The Aletheia House is one of Alabama’s largest providers of
substance abuse treatment, substance abuse/HIV prevention, employment services, health care,
and affordable housing.
She has been a coach, mentor, and educator in every aspect of her career. Genesis spent the last
six and a half years working for the YWCA USA as the Director of Member Services and
YWCA Central Alabama as the Chief Operating Officer. Genesis has served as the Executive
Director of Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevent Center and worked for six years as Director of
the Social Work Program at her alma mater, Miles College. She is an honors graduate of Miles
and The University of Alabama to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work. She
is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in organizational leadership from Abilene
Christian University, with an expected graduation date of December 2022. Though inspired by
her work to uplift marginalized communities, Genesis derives her daily dose of encouragement
from her daughter, Makyla Grace.
